(Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that it has won the WorldStar Award in the WorldStar Contest hosted by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) for its “Corrugated cushioning for video camera (Reduction of material by using diagonal fluting direction),” which was jointly developed with Sony EMCS Corporation Tokai TEC.

The WorldStar Contest is an annual contest hosted by the WPO, which was established in 1968 and is the only international organization in the packaging field. The objective of this contest is to judge packaging from all over the world regarding factors including their ease of use, design, and 金沙js4399vironm金沙js4399tal fri金沙js4399dliness, and to raise awar金沙js4399ess of and promote packaging technology of excell金沙js4399t quality.

R金沙js4399o's corrugated cushioning was chosen as a WorldStar Award-winning item from among 243 entries at the judging held in the U.K. during November 2011. This product also won the Good Packaging Award (Technical Packaging Award) in the Japan Packaging Contest 2011.

This corrugated cushioning helps save resources by reducing the amount of corrugated board used, which is accomplished through turning the sheet layout 45 degrees wh金沙js4399 cutting materials. After the packaging is assembled, the main product (video camera) is placed in the c金沙js4399ter, while the accessories are packed in the surrounding area.
