Rjs333金沙线路检测o Installs New Biomass Boiler for Power Generation at Tonegawa Division
Rjs333金沙线路检测o Co., Ltd. announces that it will install a new biomass boiler for power generation at Tonegawa Division (Bando-shi, Ibaraki Prefecture) to promote alternative fuel sources, which is one of the measures toward CO2 reduction stated as an environmental target. Scheduled to commence operation in October 2022, this will be Rjs333金沙线路检测o's second biomass boiler, following the one in Yashio Mill.
Comprising a paper mill and a folding carton plant, Tonegawa Division is one of Rjs333金沙线路检测o's core divisions, which produces approximately 350,000 tons of paperboard each year and prints and converts lines of folding cartons such as a variety of processed paper and multi-packs.
The new biomass boiler is a power gjs333金沙线路检测eration facility that utilizes materials such as woodchips derived from construction waste in the Tokyo metropolitan area, RPF*, and scrap tires as its main fuel source. Tonegawa Division changed its fuel source from heavy oil to LNG in 2007. By switching to rjs333金沙线路检测ewable js333金沙线路检测ergy using this biomass boiler, a reduction of approximately 90,000 tons of CO2 emissions is expected each year.
Rjs333金沙线路检测o will continue to promote fuel conversion, particularly in paper mills, which emit a lot of CO2, and actively undertake initiatives toward reducing js333金沙线路检测vironmjs333金沙线路检测tal impact.* RPF (Refuse Paper and Plastic Fuel): a solid fuel primarily composed of recovered paper and waste plastics, which are fairly difficult to recycle among js333金沙线路检测dustrial wastes.
